INAC Funding Source Support

Did you know there are over 40 different funding programs offered by the Department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada? These programs are specific to the Indigenous people of Canada and are offered to Indigenous organizations, communities and businesses.

According to the Department of Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada’s website:

“Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) supports Indigenous peoples (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) and Northerners in their efforts to improve social well-being and economic prosperity; develop healthier, more sustainable communities and participate more fully in Canada’s political, social and economic development – to the benefit of all Canadians.”

This means that your Indigenous community, organization or business has the right to apply for a myriad of funding opportunities at any given time during the year which includes (but not limited to):

  • Band (or Council) funds;
  • Capital projects;
  • Business development;
  • Community development;
  • Education;
  • Emergency management;
  • Income assistance;
  • Land development;
  • Environmental management;
  • Urban Aboriginal partnerships;
  • Youth employment;
  • Infrastructure and housing;
  • And much more!

If you qualify as a potential recipient as per program criteria for any of the INAC funding programs you have the right to apply for funding and/or assistance in any of the above noted programs.
