What do we do?

Cambium Aboriginal Inc. provides these integrated service lines:

Where do we Offer Our Services?

We are currently located on the Curve Lake First Nation, just north of Peterborough, Ontario. We can cost effectively serve the entire province of Ontario and although we are focussed on First Nation related projects, we will confidently provide services off of our traditional territories.

If you have a project outside of Ontario and would like us to provide service to you, please contact us to discuss the opportunity. We are here to help and will work with you to ensure you get a team to meet your needs.

Why do We Offer Indigenous Specific Services?

It is difficult to explain why we have targeted the First Nation communities in the written word. The reason is more like a feeling. When we have witnessed others do the type of work we do in the past, we feel that there was something missing. A focus? A dedication? A commitment? It is hard to explain but there is something special about working on projects in First Nation communities. We believe that that feeling can be taught, but it only originates from the true heart of an Anishnaabe. We want to bring the same passion that will bring an elder to tears when speaking of the beauty of the land to every job we do. We want to share your love of your community with you. It just plain feels good.

How Do We Do it?

At Cambium, our company culture is the key contributor to our success. Culture, for us, is defined simply as “the way we do things around here”. It involves the way we interact with each other, with our clients, and with the communities that we serve.

As opposed to the traditional hierarchical structure, we work from a “flat” organizational structure, which facilitates the opportunity for participation by all team members in the company’s operations, including strategic planning. We also integrate an internal cross cultural training session into every project we do. This allows our non-First Nation based clients to begin in the passion that we have. We find that this inspires our staff to go above and beyond to make a project successful.

Externally, we believe that we have an obligation to improve the well-being of the communities in which we operate. We support a wide variety to community initiatives and organizations, chosen by our team, through our annual donation of a pre-determined percentage of our corporate revenues. In addition, we encourage our team to volunteer with local non-profit organizations of their choice through paid volunteer opportunities.
